Caught in a grind: Ana Kasparian of The Young Turks excuses her misogynist co-workers

In November 2016 The Young Turks’ commentator Ana Kasparian went on camera to call women who voted for Trump “fucking dumb” for supporting a misogynist, yet ironically she has excused her male co-workers after loads of misogynist statements were dug up from their old blogs published on The Young Turks’ original website.

In November 2016, Ana Kasparian shared her hatred for women who voted for Trump because of his treatment of women.
One of Kasparian’s claim to fame clips is where she spewed her hatred for women who voted for Trump because of his treatment of women.

“I have no respect for women who voted for Trump. Okay? I think so poorly of them, and the reason why is because, look, I don’t think you’re a single issue voter, I just think you’re dumb. Okay? I think you’re fucking dumb. When you vote for someone who openly treats women like second class citizens, who talks about them as though they’re nothing more than a piece of meat, who has been accused of sexually assaulting them, who has been caught on tape about groping them and grabbing them by the pussy without consent, yeah, you’re an idiot. Okay? You are voting against your best interests. I’m just losing my mind tonight because of how stupid the majority of the country is.”

The tables have turned, however, after many sexist and racist statements published by her co-workers at The Young Turks, Cenk Uygur and Dave Koller (current producer and VP of operations), were found on blog posts dating back to 1999 on the website YoungTurk.com, which has since been replaced with the current website TYTNetwork.com. In a blog published in 1999, Uygur complained about women not taking romantic interest in him and called them “semi-pro” prostitutes. He wrote:

“Obviously, the genes of women are flawed. They are poorly designed creatures who do not want to have sex nearly as often as needed for the human race to get along peaceably and fruitfully.”

In a blog entry published in 2004, Koller, who happens to be a co-founder of The Young Turks and works as senior VP of operations, wrote a piece degrading teenage girls.

In one small Pennsylvania town we stopped for gas, and while Cenk filled up I went to talk to these three girls who were walking down the road nearby. Turns out they were three teenage girls, whores in training, literally looking for boys to pick them up. Cenk soon joined me and we discovered these three little spoiled brat bitch young American girls on their way to becoming abused porn actresses or dispensable property in a New York City prostitution ring. The girls live in a small town nearby, and were in this town visiting the grandma of one of them. They were around 14-16 and in a few more years will be pretty damn good looking, but not great.

One would assume Kasparian would take serious offense to these statements, considering she expressed hatred for women who  supported “misogynist” Trump. However, she  shrugged her shoulders about it since she personally had never experienced hardships in the work space. She said..

“TYT and the environment that Cenk fostered has given me the ability to speak my mind fearlessly. I’ve gotten into heated debates with Cenk on air, and I’ve even openly criticized him off air. Not once has he retaliated or made me feel anything other than a valued voice in the company. He always takes my thoughts and concerns into consideration. I’ve gotten offers to make a lot more money at other media organizations and I’ve turned them down because no other place has supported me and my voice like TYT has.”

Perhaps Kasparian is fearful of losing her job for denouncing her misogynist co-workers, despite claiming otherwise. She should own up to the fact that she has qualified herself for being called “fucking dumb.”
