After the horrible death of Minneapolis resident George Floyd on May 25, 2020, devastating riots broke out across the United States. These riots have resulted in multiple deaths (both civilians and police), people being beaten nearly to death, businesses large and small being damaged and looted, and structure and vehicle fires.
I have been appalled by the number of supporters of George Floyd protests I have spoken to who had little to no knowledge of the riots that have occurred. Some thought only Target was looted, others acted as though the riots were not worthy of discussion since they considered the majority of protests to be “peaceful.” This is astonishing when the aftermath of rioting will cause even more struggle for communities that were struggling to begin with, and even more blame on “race” when the actions of ruthless rioters will contribute to ongoing turmoil.
Since I have spoken to so many people who are ignorant about the riots, I decided to start composing a collection of videos, photos and news links about the riots. This is just the tip of the iceberg of the violence and destruction that descended on Americans.
