I was recently featured in an interview that was published by media outlet World Religion News on June 13, 2018.
The article is titled “Being a Republican Atheist is not an oxymoron: An interview with founder Lauren Ell.” In the interview I discussed a variety of topics, particularly challenges the organization Republican Atheists has had in communicating with atheist groups and podcasters. I also discussed the political landscape of U.S. atheist groups, as well as prominent conservative atheists I admire, such as Jillian Becker of The Atheist Conservative and published author Heather Mac Donald.
World Religion News had a refreshing approach in the interview. The interviewer thoughtfully listened to my responses rather than trying to corner me to prove something to readers. I understand being cornered is a part of the package of speaking out, but it is nice to casually share my views for once.
