Lady Gaga: If you’re going to talk the talk for more gun control, then walk the walk

Pop stars are hypocritical all the time, but I have to give attention to Lady Gaga because she’s the only mainstream pop star I’ve seen live in the last decade.

Lady Gaga posted a couple of videos of her participating in a March for Our Lives rally on March 24, 2018. In one video she is surrounded by young people who are looking at the camera with her as she yells her demands for more gun control and gun laws. She goes the whole nine yards by holding a sign stating “DISARM HATE,” complete with rainbow design.

Lady Gaga’s music video for song “John Wayne” is full of gun violence.

I can’t help but point out the hypocrisy of Lady Gaga on the issue of gun violence. Her recently released music video for the song “John Wayne” went above and beyond in glorifying gun violence. The video features clips of her carelessly shooting a gun while hanging out of a car driven by a reckless driver. At one point she points the gun at the driver. Towards the end of the video she is sitting on the hood of a car parked in the driveway of a home and shoots bullets out of her high heel boots (shooting is “cool and trendy”?). The video closes with a clip of her being shot and falling on a lawn in front of a house in a suburban neighborhood.

So she releases a video of her carelessly shooting a gun and being shot in a suburban neighborhood, and now she is calling for more gun control? Lady Gaga, if you’re going to talk the talk for more gun control, you should walk the walk.

On a side note, the video also featured littering, drunk driving and hit and run. Looks like the activist Lady Gaga can’t stay relevant without contradicting her own supposed values.
