San Jose: Why stop at placing rainbow flags outside of Chick-fil-A?

The city council of San Jose has opened a can of worms after it recently voted unanimously to place rainbow flags outside of the restaurant Chick-fil-A that is scheduled to open within city limits next month.

A city council member brought up the idea of placing rainbow flags outside of Chick-fil-A because the chain has a history of supporting two noted organizations that challenge the LGBT movement. The board voted 11-0 in favor of the idea.

My question is why stop at Chick-fil-A? Why not approach other organizations and locations that have a history of challenging the LGBT movement, like churches and mosques? South Bay Islamic Association and the Evergreen Islamic Center are within city limits and should qualify for the rainbow flag tirade.

Obviously the city of San Jose is not going to go so far to put rainbow flags outside of religious locations that challenge the LGBT movement, so this is clearly blatant harassment.

Another question is why stop at LGBT issues when it comes to this form of harassment? What other issues should the city become involved in when it comes to harassing businesses and organizations? There’s issues like childhood marriage, environmentalism, vaccination, poor employee treatment, etc. It opens a whole can of worms a city should not be involved with.

The city council should drop this plan and not use tax payer funding to harass businesses the council targets.
