Lauren Ell’s life update – Winter 2025

Here is a quick update on my life…

My twins just turned 9 months old! I am so glad they are starting to adapt to sleeping better and are so close to being one year old! Caring for twins is definitely the biggest accomplishment and challenge in my life as of yet, and probably will be in my entire life? I am sure of it.

My other two children are ages 3 and 6. They are a handful but are so much fun. My oldest, Kajsa, has been diagnosed with autism so it has been a learning curve to learn how to communicate with her, but I am so impressed with her writing skills! The younger one, Jake, is a sweetheart and gives the best hugs.

I have been working on two children oriented projects that I am proud of. One is called Gällivare Barn (“Gällivare Children”), a resource that shares activities, groups and support for children and families in Gällivare kommun (Sweden). This group has really taken off and has over 200 followers on Instagram and nearly 200 members in the Facebook group.

I also launched a similar project called Norrbotten Barn (“Norrbotten Children”) that covers the entire Norrbotten region in Sweden, a very large area. I thought it would be so neat to see what this region offers children and to build a giant network of children oriented groups. Already within a couple days the Instagram account has 20 followers. I am sure this project is going to be big!

I am planning to also focus on my organization Republican Atheists, especially since there has been recent growing interest in the organization.

I am hoping to collect more information on the author and researcher Jillian Becker, who is currently 93 years old. I find her inspirational and have spoken to her numerous times during the last 10 years. However, I realize her time left on this planet is short and I hope to salvage what I can of her life while she is still alive.

I will probably be at home with my children until next August when they start daycare. Then I will start working again, most likely as a caregiver to the elderly in my community through a service called “Hemtjänst,” which is basically an in-home caregiving service. This will be my first time working as a caregiver, so I will see how it goes. I am looking forward to learning more about elder care, partly to help my parents who are becoming older and also for my own personal knowledge.
